To an emerging educator, Barr’s passion for education and her commitment to her community is awe-inspiring. I unfortunately never had the opportunity to personally meet Barr. However, as a language arts teacher, I feel that she was a kindred spirit. I am grateful that she believed in my desire to be a successful and effective teacher, and that she was willing to bestow her personal wealth on my future. Thanks to Barr! The memory of her amazing role as an educator in the community will always have a special place in my mind.
