The Banff Mountain Film Festival offers films on these two subjects as well as nine others when it makes its world tour stop at 7 p.m. March 14 in Durango.

The event at the Smiley Building auditorium is a benefit for Rocky Mountain Wild and the San Juan Citizens Alliance. Doors open at 6 p.m.

Each year after the November festival in Banff, Alberta, organizers pick several of the top films and send them out on a world tour. The festival is a collection from across the globe including films about skiing, biking, climbing, kayaking, paddle boarding, trail running and other miscellaneous adventuring.

Tickets are available at Pine Needle Mountaineering, Backcountry Experience and Maria’s Bookshop. In advance, they’re $12, or $10 for members of the two nonprofits. At the door, they’re $15, or $12 for members of the two nonprofits.
