Turney will talk about how the creation of Wupatki National Monument in 1924 caused indigenous residents to be gradually displaced, which resulted in loss of territory and ancestral connections.
The presentation, part of the Four Corners Lecture Series, is titled “Social Consequences of Land Loss: Navajo Oral History, Ethnoarchaeology and Spatial Analysis at Wupatki National Monument, Arizona.”
