50 years ago: The following appeared in the section called Dryside News: “Seven men met at the community spring and made repairs on it. They also cleared brush and cleaned the park.”

25 years ago: “Despite the fact that La Plata Community Hospital brought in more money in October than ever in its history, the hospital is operating at a $33,000 loss for the year. … In 1988, Community lost $638.000 according to the financial statement.”
