50 years ago: “Injuries seem to be the order of the day. Sandra Hinsley, 1965 Colorado Mounted Ranger Queen, has just been released from Mercy hospital with a broken leg. Rumor has it that she fell off a bicycle and not a horse.”

25 years ago: “The Herald and the Durango Police Department still haven’t found out what unclaimed fortunes await us after an April 7 ABC-TV network special ‘Unclaimed Fortunes II’ listed the Herald and the Durango Police Reserve Fund among those who have fortunes awaiting them. A Herald letter inquiring about the fortune still hasn’t been answered.”
