25 years ago: “A light drizzle dampened the wildfire burning in the Menefee Wilderness Study Area east of Mesa Verde National Park after burning 920 acres of juniper, ponderosa and oak brush. … Sixty firefighters were arriving from the Front Range to assist the crews on the fire line bringing the total number of firefighters to 200.”
