50 years Ago: “La Plata County Commissioners assured two men from the East Animas Valley they are trying to work out right-of-way so their road can be raised and widened. ‘The question is,’ said commission Chairman Claude Deering, ‘Where do we get a right-of-way from’ M.F. Colley and Arthur Brown appeared for the area.”

25 years Ago: “The Durango Rotary Club and the High Noon Rotary Club will sponsor an air show again this year. A year ago we decided against sponsoring an air show in 1991. In April of this year we changed our minds.”
