50 years ago: “Dwight E. Seits, charged by his wife on a Kansas warrant with assault with intent to commit murder, was released on his own recognizance. … Seits two weeks ago posted a $5,000 cash bond, of which $4,000 was paid in silver dollars on a federal charge of unlawful flight to avoid prosecution before U.S. Commissioner Paul S. Gemmill.”

25 years ago: “Durango police found more than 1,000 marijuana plants in a home at the Forest Lakes subdivision after an ‘alert’ Colorado State patrolman pulled over two speeding cars and became suspicious of the contents inside. Authorities said the operation had a revenue potential of $1 million.”
