50 years ago: Mesa Verde –“Mesa Verde National Park last month marked the first decrease in travel since January 1963. Visits, totaling 7,200 were down 1,900 from last year’s count of 9,100, or a decrease of 20.8 percent.”

25 years ago: “Three new board members were elected in School District 9-R after a quiet race to fill three seats on the board. Tom Shine, Rob Crane and Ron Pettigrew will join the seven-member board. Each will serve four years.”
