75 years ago: The following appeared in the section titled Florida News: “The Get-Together Club met. Everyone enjoyed the afternoon and delicious refreshments were served by the hostesses.”

50 years ago: “The July issue of the Readers Digest carries on page 113 an item reprinted from the Herald. The magazine paid the Herald $55 for the right to use the story.”

25 years ago: “More hot, dry weather is on the way for Durango, with no relief until mid-July. Record temperatures have baked Durango for the last two days. Sunday’s 97-degree high broke the record of 93 set in 1974, and Monday’s high of 94 broke 1988’s record of 92.”
