We received a nice letter from the Speaker of the Colorado House of Representatives. I just wanted to let everyone know about this wonderful recognition our kids received after state competition this year.
For those of you who are new to the district, I started SkillsUSA just over 10 years ago here at BHS, and what an awesome run we have had and will continue to have! Students have qualified for national SkillsUSA competition seven times in the 11 years we have had the Bayfield chapter.
Students have earned the following titles: three cabinetmaking state champions; one carpentry state champion; three Quiz Bowl champions; one web design state champion, and one extemporaneous speaking state champion. We have also had many years of finishing in the top three at state-level competition.
I would like to thank everyone for their support over the years. Look for more great things to come!
