Well, Praise the Lord …
Of all the pressing issues that our country faces regarding the destruction of our society and government as we know it, what does our own Representative trot out with pride for his constituents to admire and beg for more?
Heading this week’s Top10 list of things that need legislative resolution ASAP: “The Holy Sovereignty Protection Act which protects the U.S. citizenship of any American elected to serve as the Supreme pontiff of the Roman Catholic Church. The bill prohibits the revocation of citizenship during a papal tenure and exempts the individual from U.S. tax obligations while serving as pope, recognizing his unique role as both a religious leader and head of state.”
Pope Leo XIV can now more effectively shepherd his 1.272 billion faithful, secure in the knowledge that his U.S. tax obligations will be exempted.
Praise the Lord!
Like our representative always says to his colleagues when they daily look to him for advice and leadership: ‘Don’t dither! There is too much to be done to waste your time on legislation that does not have a positive, protective impact on the greatest number of people in your district.” And most of all, “Don’t ever make a mockery of the office to which you were elected. Stand by what you campaigned on, because that is what people will remember.”
These are the kind of insightful aphorisms that other legislators have learned to learn from and what makes our representative a beacon in an otherwise dimming light of legislative progress.
