Emergency crews responded to a gas leak shortly before 6 p.m. Tuesday near Eastlawn Avenue and Montview Parkway. Durango Fire Protection District Chief Randy Black said a vehicle backed into a meter and sheared it off. The leak was shut off as of 6:20 p.m., and crews were preparing to leave the scene.
