I’m proud to support James Lane for the LPEA board representing Archuleta District 1.
I’ve known James and his family for decades. The Lane family has deep roots in Southwest Colorado, with generations of hard work in ranching and agriculture. They understand what it means to live and work in rural Colorado and, more importantly, what reliable and affordable electricity means to families, farms and small businesses.
James brings a rare combination of real-world experience and technical expertise. He’s not only a rancher and businessman, but also a highly trained electrical engineer who has spent more than 30 years working in power systems, industrial automation and energy infrastructure. He understands how electricity is generated, transmitted and delivered, and he knows how decisions made at the board level directly impact rates and reliability.
In rural communities like ours, we can’t afford costly mistakes or decisions that put reliability at risk. James understands power contracts, transmission systems and the importance of keeping costs under control. He approaches problems with a practical, analytical mindset and a strong sense of responsibility to the people he serves.
Just as important, James values transparency and clear communication. He believes members deserve to understand how decisions are made and how those decisions affect their electric bills.
We need steady, knowledgeable leadership at LPEA, and James Lane is exactly that kind of leader. I strongly encourage you to support him for District 1.
J. Paul Brown, farmer, rancher and former House District 59 representative
