One of seven players to secure a 15-for-16 in Week 14, Jason Fugate of Ignacio won the grand prize with a 27-17 tiebreaker in the Big Easy.

The New Orleans Saints beat the Carolina Panthers 31-13, so Fugate joins our long list of champions.

Speaking of, our Week 4 winner – Rob Hately, aka “sparky” – and our Week 7 winner – Dan Rose, aka “danrose” (real original, right?) – were among the long list of 14ers in Week 14.

Two others made 1st and Goal – Week 3 winner Frank Hawkins (“hawk99”) and Week 10 winner Gary Norton (“glnorton”).

Michael Butterfield – aka the “butterguy” who set our Thanksgiving tables with a Week 12 victory – showed up in the 4th and Long this week. He picked 8-of-16 right; half is nothing to shake a stick at. That just goes to show you how unforgiving a week it was for prognosticators.

I fit safely in the middle of the pack with an 11 to run my season total to 123-82.

Big Al and “baylsc” were two of those 14ers in Week 14 to leapfrog the field and now lead this year’s Gridiron Green with twin 142 totals.

Thursday, Dec. 12

San Diego at Denver (NFL Network; KRSJ 100.5 FM) – Minimal preparation time won’t affect Peyton Manning. Philip Rivers doesn’t scare me. Not having Wes Welker hurts, but the Broncos cruise. Pick: Broncos 42, Chargers 30. Line: Broncos by 10.

Sunday, Dec. 15

Philadelphia at Minnesota – The Eagles and Foles are on a roll. It keeps on snowballing through Minnesota. A gimpy Adrian Peterson doesn’t exactly help the Vikes, either. Pick: Eagles 28, Vikings 14. Line: Philadelphia by 4½.

Washington at Atlanta – Captain Kirk (Cousins) leads Washington to victory in the 2013 Disappointment Bowl. RGIII is sitting for the rest of the season on Mike Shanahan’s orders. Pick: Washington 24, Atlanta 19. Line: Atlanta by 6.

San Francisco at Tampa Bay (KASA) – Tampa Bay’s mini-resurgence is over. San Francisco is riding high after last week’s fist fight with the Seahawks. Pick: 49ers 23, Buccaneers 14. Line: San Francisco by 5½.

Seattle at N.Y. Giants – The Seahawks have designs on an early February trip to New York. The Giants will be fishing by then. Eli Manning gets picked off. A lot. Pick: Seahawks 31, Giants 17. Line: Seahawks by 7.

Chicago at Cleveland – Luke McCown at 34 leads the offense better than Jay Cutler at 30. The Browns still are a little ways from contending. Pick: Bears 26, Cleveland 20. Line: Bears by 1½.

Houston at Indianapolis – Houston’s bad week gets worse. Colts may have the division locked up, but there’s seeding to be had. Andrew Luck finds a way to right the ship. Pick: Colts 24, Houston 10. Line: Colts by 6.

Buffalo at Jacksonville – Anyone watching this game outside of Buffalo and Jacksonville is in the fantasy playoffs. Neither one of these teams is headed to the real thing. Jaguars get the nod at home. Pick: Jaguars 22, Bills 20. Line: Bills by 2.

New England at Miami (KCNC, KREZ) – No Gronk leaves the Patriots’ offense without much teeth. Dolphins need a win to stay alive for a playoff spot. New England can only come back so many times, right? Pick: Dolphins 24, Patriots 20. Line: Patriots by 2½.

Kansas City at Oakland – Chiefs bounce back from a three-game losing streak with two wins in a row. The Raiders really miss Terrelle Pryor under center. Who’d have thought that coming into this year? Pick: Chiefs 20, Raiders 10. Line: Chiefs by 4.

N.Y. Jets at Carolina – A dominant defense feasts on rookie Geno Smith’s mistakes. Cam Newton’s due for a bounce-back game after a rough time in New Orleans. Pick: Panthers 21, Jets 3. Line: Panthers by 11.

Arizona at Tennessee – The Cardinals seem to have figured out this winning thing recently. No Honey Badger, no problem. Titans are fading fast in the playoff race. Pick: Cardinals 24, Titans 16. Line: Arizona by 2½.

New Orleans at St. Louis – Drew Brees just carved up one of the better defenses in the league last week. What do you think he’ll do to the Rams’ 22nd-ranked pass defense? Pick: Saints 28, Rams 17. Line: Saints by 5½.

Green Bay at Dallas (KASA) – It won’t matter whether Aaron Rodgers plays or not. It’s about that time for Dallas’ yearly late-season collapse. Pick: Green Bay 28, Dallas 26. Line: Off.

Cincinnati at Pittsburgh (KOBF, KUSA) – The Bengals can push themselves to the brink of a division title. The Steelers improve their draft stock. It’s a win-win. Sort of. Pick: Bengals 16, Steelers 14. Line: Cincinnati by 3.

Monday, Dec. 16

Baltimore at Detroit (ESPN) – Matt Elam called Megatron ‘pretty old’ this week. An angry Calvin Johnson is the last thing any secondary on the planet wants to see. Pick: Lions 28, Ravens 20. Line: Lions by 6.
