The report, Moving America Forward, showed that Colorado’s Renewable Energy Standard reduced carbon pollution by 3.7 million metric tons in 2012, the equivalent of keeping 770,833 cars off the road for a year.

By using energy more efficiently and by generating more power from clean, renewable sources, we are standing strong in the fight against global warming. In order to make an even bigger impact, we need firm limits on carbon pollution.

The Environmental Protection Agency has proposed carbon limits on power plants that could build on our early success and give us a platform for an even bigger shift to clean energy. U.S. Sens. Mark Udall and Michael Bennet need to continue to support the EPA’s plan to limit carbon pollution from power plants to avoid the worst impacts of climate change in Colorado.
