On Monday, Durango Fire Protection District firefighters tended to an occupant of a 2001 Nissan Altima driven by Durango resident Sean Scovell, 31. The car crossed the yellow line into oncoming traffic and collided with a 2003 Toyota Tacoma driven by Michele Harder, 47, also of Durango, on Colorado Highway 3. Scovell and his passenger, Sarah Taylor, 31, also of Durango, were transported to Mercy Regional Medical Center, where they were treated and released. Highway 3 was closed for about an hour. Scovell was cited for reckless driving with drugs suspected as a contributing factor, driving on a license that had been revoked for a previous alcohol offense and arrested on a warrant with no connection to the accident, said Sgt. Michael Baker of the Colorado State Patrol.
