Colorado State Patrol, Durango Fire Protection District and La Plata County Sheriff’s Office all responded.

“We were dispatched at 10:31 (a.m.),” said DFPD Battalion Chief Rod Allen. “Three engines, three transport units, three (vehicles).

The highway at the 2800 block was closed for about two hours in both directions, said Sgt. Brandon Tisher with the Sheriff’s Office.

Tisher said the State Patrol is handling the investigation.

Information on the extent of the injuries was not yet released.
