Vaughn Morris, President/CPO of the Boys & Girls Club of La Plata County, will speak to the Rotary Club of Durango at 6 p.m. today at the Strater Hotel, 699 Main Ave.
A Fort Lewis College alumnus, Vaughn has been part of the Boys & Girls Club movement for more than 15 years. Horsemen to work on adopted trail
The Four Corners Back Country Horsemen will work on their adopted portion of the Pine-Piedra Stock Driveway at 9 a.m. Saturday.
This part of the trail has historic arbor glyphs, it overlooks Vallecito Lake, and it ends at Slide Mountain. The group will be fine-tuning drainage structures and doing erosion control on steep sections. Participants should meet at the end of Beaver Meadows Road (Forest Service Road 135).
The Horsemen will provide the tools. It’s a short hike to the work site from where people will park at the end of West Prong Road.

CDOT announces road maintenance
Colorado Department of Transportation announces these maintenance activities:
Mowing will take place along shoulders east and west of Dolores on Colorado Highway 184 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Thursday. Some lane closures and traffic slowing can be expected.

Trails 2000 to host trailwork Wednesday
Trails 2000 will host Trailwork from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday on the Nature Trail near Fort Lewis College.
No experience is necessary Trails 2000 will provide the tools, instruction, food and water. Participants should meet on Rim Drive across from the Chapel at FLC. Volunteers should wear long pants, a long-sleeved shirt, closed-toe shoes, sun hat, sunscreen and bring a water bottle and rain jacket.
