Every October the Adaptive Sports Association celebrates a “Harvest Gala,” which helps finance equipment, training and the many scholarships which provide independence and success for athletes with disabilities.
Donations are sought for the live and silent auctions that fund the program.

Museum conference to take place in Aspen
The Mountain-Plains Museum Association will hold its 2014 annual conference from Sept. 28 to Oct. 2 in Snowmass/Aspen.
The regional museum conference draws museum professionals to learn about everything from coordinating volunteers to creating podcasts. The conference is designed for anyone who works, volunteers or is interested in museums. There will be tours of the new Aspen Art Museum Art, Anderson Ranch, Redstone Castle, Holland-Thompson House, Roaring Fork Valley Historic Sites, Aspen architecture, Aspen Center for Environmental Studies, Woody Creek and Independence Pass historic sites. Some program highlights will include board fundraising, creating engaging tours, museum evaluations, tips for curators, serving Latino audiences and more.
