Ignacio junior Chrystianne Valdez winces after hitting the deck to keep a ball in play against Mancos during last Thursday's action inside Ignacio Middle School Gymnasium.  The first of the Volleycats' pair of Homecoming Week matches, IHS fell to Mancos 18-25, 20-25 and 21-25 and then lost 19-25, 17-25, 17-25 to Ridgway two days later. "It's definitely not the best feeling losing two of your very few home games," Valdez said. "But by the end of the season we're going to be killing it!  That's what we're focused on right now, pushing towards the end of the season."  Valdez scored 17 digs in the matchup. Up next, Ignacio travels all the way out to Simla, along U.S. 24 between Colorado Springs and Limon, for tomorrow's Simla Invitational. Many rarely-faced foes are slated to attend, including Wray, Rye and Hoehne.
