Allison is quoted as saying she will bring the treasurer’s office “out of the dark.” I didn’t know the treasurer’s office was so outdated, incompetent and secretive that only Allison’s techniques that she learned and polished at Microsoft and Pacific Gas could save the office.

The bottom line is that we don’t need a world traveler who has spent decades somewhere besides La Plata County and now wants to come and save the treasurer’s office. What we need is someone who has invested those same decades right here in La Plata County.

Bobby Lieb has been involved in everything from coaching soccer, numerous board of directors positions, to his current position as county commissioner. Bobby is someone who has roots here, has worked here, paid property taxes and raised a family here – not in San Francisco.

Bobby has been one of the fairest and most objective county commissioners we have had in years. He understands the way the county budget process works and how to get things done through government channels, which are very often quite different than the way you do things in corporate America.

I think La Plata County deserves a smart, principled and dedicated person to safeguard the hard-earned money collected by the treasurer, someone who understands that – unbeknownst to the employees and current treasurer – they have never been in the dark as Allison Morrissey thinks. Do yourself and the county a favor by electing the person who really is the most qualified and will do the best job as treasurer: Bobby Lieb
