St. Mark’s Episcopal Church will commemorate the 26th observance of World AIDS Day at a nondenominational service of remembrance, hope and healing at noon Monday at 910 East Third Ave.
This is the ninth year St. Mark’s has observed the day with a service. It has become one of the most recognized international health days and an opportunity to raise awareness, commemorate people who have died and celebrate victories such as increased access to treatment and prevention services.
Commissioner to hold office hours
La Plata County Commissioner Julie Westendorff will hold office hours for the general public to meet with her from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday at the Pine River Library Conference Room, 395 Bayfield Center Drive, in Bayfield.
Westendorff will meet with Bayfield area residents to learn about their interests.

Allison grange to host Christmas breakfast
Mt. Allison Grange will host a free Christmas Breakfast from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the grange located in Allison.
The breakfast is open to the community. Canned food donations will be accepted and dispersed to area families during the holiday season. Santa will be bringing gifts for the kids.
