The city of Durango will replace a water main valve at Kearney Street and Eastlawn Avenue on Wednesday, which will necessitate shutting off water to residents of Eastlawn from El Paso Street to Montview Parkway.

Work is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. and be completed by 4 p.m. In some cases, properties located on a corner lot of the affected area also could be without water.

Residents of the affected area are advised to plan ahead for water for cooking, drinking and toilet flushing.

Hour Exchange group to meet Wednesday

Take a full-moon hike under Snow Moon

Full Moon Snowshoe Hike Under the Snow Moon, led by John Duwe, will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Haviland Lake/Chris Park. The hike is free for members, $10 for nonmembers. DNS Winter Social and Dine-Out will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Carver’s Brewing Co. Carver’s will donate 15 percent of all the food and drink served during the social.

The Green Laser Constellation Snowshoe Program will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Andrews Lake. Astronomer John Buting will lead this winter, dark-sky snowshoe program complete with green laser constellation show. Bring binoculars.
