50 years ago: “Mrs. O.C. Francis gave the program on ‘Women in a Changing World.’ She told of the slow progress in emancipating women, starting with the time of Caesar and his wife. Actually little change was notable until the last 100 years, and only in the last few decades has there been considerable development in the equality of woman.”

25 years ago: “An ordinance to control nuisance cats will be on the agenda when the Durango City Council meets. The proposed ordinance would make it illegal for an owner to ‘fail to maintain reasonable control’ over his cat.”
