The American Association of University Women, Durango Branch, will hold its annual Book and Author Luncheon for members and guests at 11 a.m. March 21 in the Vallecito Room at Fort Lewis College.
This is an FLC scholarship fundraiser. The guest speaker will be Shaila Van Sickle, professor emeritus at FLC and author of Seven Characters in Search of an Author. Luncheon will be served.

Multiple-sclerosis group to meet
The Multiple Sclerosis Support Group will meet from noon to 1 p.m. the second Tuesday of every month at the Durango Southwest Center for Independence office, 3473 Main Ave., No. 23.

Professional women’s network to meet
The Professional Women’s Network of Durango will meet from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Lost Dog Bar & Lounge, 1150 Main Ave.
The speaker will be Beth Drum, senior vice president of Alpine Bank. Drum will speak about the importance of knowing the “why” of what people do. Members will be given ample time to network with each other, as well as scheduled time with Drum and other business women. Professional women are encouraged to visit www.pwndurango.com to become members. Membership is free. The group holds monthly events and has a standing meeting on the second Tuesday of the month.
Health-action coalition to meet
The Citizens Health Action Coalition will meet from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Friday at the Durango Community Recreation Center in the Sunlight Room, 2700 Main Ave.
The public is invited. Presenters at this month’s meeting will include Stephanie Allred with Axis Health System and Scott Smith, local National Alliance for the Mentally Ill President. Allred will present on “Mental Health First Aid” and Smith will speak about the local chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness. Refreshments will be provided.
