50 years ago: “This storm isn’t over yet, so says W.W. Davies, Durango’s unofficial weather prophet. However, it is not unusual to have heavy snowstorms in March. Last year was a dry spring, but at this time of the month. Durango had 1.16 inches of snow while there only has been .99 inches of snow this March. January and February of this year are way ahead of last year in snowfall, though.”
25 years ago: “The baseball lockout is over, patches of green are poking up in Durango lawns, and calving is under way at area ranches. If it seems like spring, that’s because it is.”
