Head coach John L. Smith and the Fort Lewis College football team will hit the field for the final time this spring during the team’s spring game at 9:30 a.m. Saturday on the FLC campus. The game will offer fans their first glimpse at the squad the Skyhawks will roll out for the 2015 season, which will open Sept. 3 at Montana State. The quarterback position will be a key focus for Smith and the Skyhawks, as last year’s starter Jordan Doyle still is sidelined after a severe leg injury a season ago. AJ Thigpen, a transfer from Phoenix College, will have a chance to be FLC’s starter Week 1 of the season.
