The 22nd annual Silverton Hillside Cemetery volunteer work day will be held from 10 a.m. to noon June 20.
This is an opportunity to help the town of Silverton maintain, restore and preserve its heritage. Participants should bring limb loppers, hand-held clippers and shovels.
After the work session, anecdotes of early pioneers for the 18 tombstones placed that day in the cemetery will be shared. Participants should bring a sack lunch and a lawn chair.

Quilters guild features traditional applique
The La Plata Quilters Guild will meet at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 495 Florida Road.
Daisy Boulter will present a Trunk Show, featuring traditional, applique and art quilts. Boulter is a new Colorado Quilting Council judge and might offer participants tips on showing their quilts. There will not be a sew day Saturday.
Post-birth depression illuminated in climb
Postpartum Progress’ Climb Out of the Darkness Durango event will take place at 10 a.m. Sunday on the Animas Mountain Trail.
The event will be part of the world’s largest event raising awareness of postpartum depression, anxiety, PTSD, psychosis and pregnancy depression.

County commissioner to host office hours
La Plata County Commissioner Gwen Lachelt will hold office hours from noon to 2 p.m. Monday at the La Plata County Fairgrounds in the Animas Room of the Extension Building, 2500 Main Ave.
People are encouraged to discuss issues of concern or interest and share their opinions on county issues.
