A short historical film featuring Gene Folsom will premier at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Animas Museum, 3065 West Second Ave.
The Folsom family settled in Durango in 1877, and Folsom’s grandfather was Durango’s first dentist. The film, by Mira Ranch Media, features his recollections and stories from Durango’s history. Folsom will be available for questions after the screening. Refreshments will be served.

Get fresh veggies Thursday at FLC
The Old Fort Farm Stand will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday near the Fort Lewis College Student Union.
The stand will offer spinach, mixed greens, romaine, arugula, curly kale, chard, radishes, green onions, garlic scapes, snow peas, snap peas, garlic heads, basil, flat leaf parsley, cilantro, oregano, lemon thyme, grass-fed beef and local pork.
The Old Fort also will host an open house from 1 to 7 p.m. July 28. Participants can take a self-guided tour of the education gardens, hops variety trial, apiary project, historic orchard, myco-remediation project and the farm incubator program. Each stop will have a knowledgeable person to answer questions.
Kiwanis Club will hear about photo exhibit
The Kiwanis Club will welcome Esther Greenfield at noon Thursday at Durango Community Recreation Center, 2700 Main Ave.
Greenfield will discuss her photo exhibit, “Tough Men in Hard Places.” currently showing at the Center of Southwest Studies’ gallery. Visitors are welcome to join.
