April Neill, center, and her daughters, Ava, left, and April, try their luck at the gold-panning trough Friday at the 62nd annual Gem & Mineral Show at the La Plata County Fairgrounds. The Neills were visiting the area on vacation from Winslow, Ariz., when they stopped by the show, which is presented by Four Corners Gem & Mineral Club, a local nonprofit organization. The show will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
