The Old Fort Farm Stand will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday near the Student Union at Fort Lewis College.
All of the produce is grown at the Old Fort by staff members, students and beginning farmers using organic practices.
The stand will offer spinach, mixed greens, romaine, arugula, curly kale, chard, radishes, green onions, snow peas, snap peas, garlic heads, basil, flat-leaf parsley, cilantro, oregano, lemon thyme, basil pesto, cilantro pesto, arugula pesto, kale chips, dehydrated onions, zucchini bread, pumpkin bread, roasted green or poblano chiles, grass-fed beef and local pork.
Arc of Colorado director visits Durango
An opportunity to meet Marijo Rymer, executive director of Arc of Colorado, will take place from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Holly House Community Center, 831 E. 31st St.
The Arc of Colorado believes that all people have moral and civil rights providing them with opportunities to love, work, play, learn and worship in communities where they choose to live. Art-walking tour offered in Edgemont
A free summer walking tour titled “Art Along the Trails in Edgemont Highlands” will take place from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.
This will be a gentle walking-hiking expedition guided by Allison Anderson, who maintains the environmental art installations, originally installed by Mary Ellen Long, along the trails within Edgemont Highlands. Participants will learn more about art created from materials found in nature.
Attendees should arrive at the Edgemont Highlands Community Lodge, 40 Red Canyon Trail, at 8:50 a.m. Saturday with comfortable clothing, good walking shoes and water.

Ohana Kuleana garden to host open house
Ohana Kuleana Community Garden will host an open house and pie-tasting contest presented by The Garden Project of Southwest Colorado from 5 to 7 p.m. July 25 at the garden, 564 E. 30th St.
The event will feature live music, garden tours, childrens activities, prizes and pie. Everyone tastes, and everyone votes. There will be prizes for “Favorite Pie” in both Sweet and Savory categories, plus drawings for prizes for attendees from many local businesses.
There is a suggested donation of $5 to $10. Children 12 and younger are free. People also may submit a pie for a ticket. Tickets include pie-tasting, prize-drawing and voting for favorite pie.

Friends of the Durango Public Library will be selling thousands of books at its Summertime Book Sale from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Durango Public Library, 1900 East Third Ave.
Quality books in all categories will be available at $1.50 per pound.
