A celebration of the Animas River will take place from noon to 2 p.m. Nov. 1 at the La Plata County Fairgrounds, 2500 Main Ave.

The event will provide information and an opportunity to ask questions of the community organizations working to support the river.

Information provided will address the Gold King Mine spill, the health of the Animas River and individual health-related topics.

The event will also feature informative activities and light refreshments.

Mancos library to host Halloween party

A Halloween party for kids of all ages will take place from 5 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Mancos Public Library, 211 West First St. in Mancos.

The event will feature mask making, face painting, mystery boxes and homemade chili.

End of Life Choices to show documentary

End of Life Choices, a local group interested in informing the public of the various options and proposals for Death with Dignity now available, will present the documentary, “The Trouble with Dying,” at 5:20 p.m. Nov. 3 at the Durango Public Library, 1900 East Third Ave.

Light refreshments will be served at 5 p.m. Admission is free. A discussion will follow.
