Curing Cancer with Crafts is Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Ignacio High School. Proceeds from the craft sale benefit the Ignacio schools’ Relay for Life team.

The Pine River Seniors’ annual fall bazaar is Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Pine River Senior Center in Bayfield The event also includes a bake sale, a dollar room, and concessions.

Commissioner to meet public at fairgrounds

County Commissioner Gwen Lachelt will hold her monthly community office hours on Monday, Nov. 16, from noon to 2 p.m. at the county fairgrounds extension building. All are welcome to come with questions or comments about county issues. For information call 382-6219.

Ignacio library to hold budget hearing

Trustees of the Ignacio Community Library will hold their annual budget hearing at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 18, the McClanahan Community Room of the library. The public is invited to attend and comment on the budget.

Destination Imagination meetings offered in Durango

San Juan BOCES is hosting several Destination Imagination informational meetings for parents, students, teachers and community volunteers.

Destination Imagination (DI) is a program for students preK-12 that fosters creative problem solving, teamwork, critical and divergent thinking skills, financial and time management, experimentation, presentation skills, and just plain fun.  

Meetings will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 16 and Nov. 30 at the Durango 9R School District Building, 201 E. 12th St. in the central 9R Board Room.

Thanksgiving potluck is Nov. 21

The monthly Pine River Shares community potluck will be Saturday, Nov. 21, from 5 to 7 p.m. a the community gym on South Street in Bayfield. All are welcome. Participants are asked to bring a side dish or dessert to go with turkey and dressing, and your own table service if possible.
