While it’s a nice idea, this is an issue that can only be decided by Congress. That being said, our state Sen. Ellen Roberts, R-Durango, has introduced a Good Samaritan Resolution in Denver that aims to offer support from the state for Good Samaritan legislation to be enacted in Washington.

In light of the Gold King spill, we need our legislators to be working on real solutions to our mining issues – not passing symbolic bills with no impact. While this might be a nice gesture, the time has come for real reform.
