Durango Friends of the Arts, a nonprofit, all-volunteer organization, will hold a general membership meeting on Thursday at Toh-Atin Gallery, 145 W. Ninth St.

It will begin with a social at 10 a.m., with the meeting starting at 10:30. A program will follow with Jackson Clark as guest speaker.

Southwest Colorado Accelerator Program for Entrepreneurs will hold an open house from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at 1211 Main Ave., No. 1.

Horsemen to hold meeting on Thursday

The Four Corners Back Country Horsemen will hold their monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday at the La Plata County Fairgrounds.

Nonmembers are always welcome to attend. Members of La Plata County Search & Rescue will give a presentation on backcountry first aid. The group works to perpetuate common-sense enjoyment of public lands by horsemen and pack stock users.

Family reading series to start in Ignacio

The Ignacio Community Library will begin its fourth Family Reading Circles program on Thursday.

The six-week program brings families together to share a meal and explore ways that they may enrich their children’s lives through books and reading. Families with children younger than 9 are invited to stop by the library to sign up for the program.

Family Reading Circles is just one of several programs designed to bring families together to participate in fun learning activities. Others include Free Build Nights with Durango’s Powerhouse Science Center and Maker Mondays featuring the library’s 3-D printer.
