It is for these reasons that I’m happy to see the introduction of House Bill 1004, a bill that would add tangible steps and deadlines to the governor’s climate plan for Colorado. I want to see our lawmakers create something with teeth. I am disappointed that a few of our elected legislators, such as Rep. J. Paul Brown, deny the reality of climate change and the devastation it brings. More than two-thirds of Coloradans want our state to take action on mitigating the impacts of climate change. It is clear that despite what the climate deniers say, Colorado is moving forward with a plan to tackle climate change head-on.
