But what about the shockwaves that goes through the manhole cover down through the pipe and into the sewer system? Those shockwaves surely must affect the integrity of the pipe and connections and could potentially cause cracks, leaks and breaks in the pipes. With thousands of wheels hitting these manholes, that is a lot of shockwaves.

I’m not a rocket scientist, but common sense tells me fixing these with metal rings to bring them up to pavement level could save motorists and the city of Durango thousands of dollars in repairs. Our citizens deserve smooth roads and the tourists would love it. Before spending millions of tax dollars on upcoming major projects how about fixing this one? It’s the right thing to do!
