The Glenwood Springs Post Independent reports the Forest Service on Tuesday released its long-awaited management plan for the area in Glenwood Canyon, as it attempts to grapple with the increasing crowds.

The proposed plan looks to limit the number of visitors to the area to 615 people per day and relies on a fee-based reservation and mandatory shuttle system during the peak season.

It would institute a shuttle service to be operated by a third-party provider during the peak months from May 1 through Oct. 31.

The public has 30 days to comment on the proposal.
