Animas Herbal Wellness Center, previously located at 1111 Camino del Rio, reopened on Oct. 5 with a new name at 1185 Camino del Rio after being displaced to make room for a proposed 90-room hotel. The marijuana business’s new name, Prohibition Herb, gives a nod to the struggle it faced finding a new location. “It was difficult to find a new place in Durango with the city zoning,” said Manager Sayrah Sims. “Any other business can easily find a place to move.” Prohibition Herb sells medical and recreational marijuana at recently-reduced prices.
