If you have ever wondered if all the talk about Christianity is true – or wondered why, after 2,000 years, people are still willing to die rather than renounce the name of Jesus – there is a simple way to find out.

Take a few minutes a day for the next few days and start reading the book of John in the new testament of the Bible. When you begin to read, pray something like this: “God, if you are real, please reveal yourself to me. I want to know if you are real.”

Forty years ago, I was challenged in this way and it changed my life, giving me purpose and hope ever since. Knowing Jesus really is the reason for the season.
