The awards, sponsored by the National Association of State Foresters, International Association of Fire Chiefs, National Fire Protection Association and the USDA Forest Service, applaud outstanding dedication to wildfire mitigation across a spectrum of activities and variety of individuals and organizations.
FireWise of Southwest Colorado nominated the railroad for its approach to wildfire risk reduction.
