Santiago is from Santa Cruz, California, and moved in 2008 to Durango for a career with the U.S. Forest Service in field biology. She is a professional cyclist who has won two Iron Horse Bicycle Classics since moving to Durango and started to pursue a real estate career after starting a business with her husband.
