There will be an instrument “petting zoo” for an hour before the concert, allowing children to touch and see instruments up close.
Concerts also will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15 at the Henderson Performance Hall in Farmington and at 5 p.m. Sunday at the Community Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College.
General admission is $10 for adults, and tickets are available at the door. Children 14 and under can attend for free.
Russian composer Sergei Prokofiev wrote the symphony in 1936, and it has become a frequently performed work in the entire classical repertoire, particularly for children.
