The forum will include contested candidates for:
Commissioner: Brad Blake, incumbent, Republican; Clyde Church, Democrat.Sheriff: Charles Hamby, Republican; Adrian Dean Mize, unaffiliated; Sean Smith, incumbent, Democrat.Treasurer: Allison Aichele, incumbent, Democrat; Colton Black, Republican.Uncontested candidates are invited to appear and give introductions.
The Bayfield forum will include a 15-minute presentation from Shelly Walchak, director of Pine River Library, about the local levy to raise taxes for the library.
Both forums will be live-streamed on the Herald website: www.durangoherald.com and will be live on the Herald’s Facebook page: www.facebook.com/thedurangoherald.
Community members can ask questions in person at the forums, in the comments section of the Facebook Live stream or before the forum by emailing “League of Women Voters” at [email protected]. Questions will be sorted and consolidated by the League of Women Voters.
The General Election will be held Nov. 6.
