The goal of the maintenance project is to decrease wildfire risk by burning slash piles from previous fire mitigation efforts in the area.

The lower loop will remain open to the public, however, users should be aware that Durango Fire Protection District staff and vehicles will be in the area. Smoke from the prescribed fire may be hazardous to people’s health.
