Animas Valley Grange to present a talk on archaeology of the Darkmold Site

Mona Charles will talk about what the Darkmold Site reveals about Durango’s first farmers, the Basketmakers. Charles spent many years teaching excavation techniques at the Darkmold Site, a Basketmaker II site in the Animas Valley north of Durango. She compiled the results of her work in a two-volume manuscript in 2015.

The talk is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided.
