More than 50 volunteers are needed each day.
The event draws more than 500 runners throughout the Four Corners each year. Volunteers will help at the finish line, keep runners on course and help track times.
Shifts run from one to four hours on both Saturday, Oct. 8, and Sunday, Oct. 9.
The Durango Double entails two half marathons, one on the Horse Gulch trail and another along the Fort Lewis College rim and Animas River Trail, as well as the Gena Rych Memorial 5K to honor the Durango woman who died in a plane crash north of Silverton in 2011.
The Durango Double is sponsored by the Animas Surgical Hospital and benefits the Women’s Resource Center, an organization that supports economic independence for women and girls in La Plata County.
