Local team wins Aztec tourney

The Aztec Mets, a traveling baseball team with players from New Mexico and Colorado, are the winners of the Aztec city tournament on June 24. The Mets defeated the Aztec Red Socks 16-5 for the title for players 11 to 12 years old. Players on the team from Ignacio and Bayfield are Noah Chamblee, Deegan Barnes, Lance Mazur, Caden Wood, Eppie Quintana Jr., Phillip Quintana and Gabe Tucson. They are coached by Dan Waldron, Mike Wood and Aaron Chamblee.
