Guy Gervais puts down new carpet tiles on Wednesday at the Durango VFW Post 4031 as the club updates the interior of the building. The post gots its charter in 1945 and the veteran members built the building at 1550 Main Ave. in 1946. The organization has hosted many events since the day it opened and now boasts it has the largest dance floor in La Plata County. Gervais, a Vietnam veteran, donated his skills tearing up old flooring and putting down new tile and carpet. The next phase will be bathroom updates.
